This is not strictly a Prime Day deal on a new Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote. Except it is. Look, the core is that if you bought an Amazon Fire TV unit before November 2018, it came with a remote control that was less useful than it could have been. Namely, because it did not have a power button to turn the TV on or off, and it had no volume control. Wrong, but true.
What happened in November? Amazon released Four TV Stick 4Khttps: //www.cordcutters.com/amazon-fire-tv-stick-4k-review with a newer, better remote control. (And it started sending the new remote with the older Fire TV Cube as well.) Today, the new remote control is the standard. But buying a new one on your own will cost you $ 29.
Enter Amazon Prime Day, and a $ 1
Now we definitely recommend you spend a couple of extra money on Fire TV Stick 4K instead. It's more powerful. It supports 4K resolution (as its name suggests) – and it is the first Amazon Fire TV to support Dolby Atmos sound, so it's more future-proof. (It also supports Dolby Vision for HDR, which is also good.)
But if you just want the upgraded remote, there is absolutely no reason not to take advantage of the $ 15 Fire TV Stick (and remove) deal . Do everything else you want with the smaller Fire TV stick that comes with it. Put it in an extra bedroom. Prop open a door. Whatever. But the remote control should be good for all devices that support it. In fact, this is an important warning. The new remote is not supported by old Fire TVs, but it will work with the Four TV Cube and Four TV Stick 4K, as well as the second generation Four TV Stick and the third generation Amazon Fire TV pendant. (It is the small square one.)
Then you need to connect the remote control with other Four TV set. Need help? We've covered you.
