Custom clocks and sharing
One of the most notable features of watchOS 7 is enhanced personalization through several complications. You can configure the dial to display the information you value most.
For example, new parents can use the Glow Baby app to track their baby’s feeding, nap times and more, all from the clock. This means that a single app can display more information.
In the same way, everyone can customize their Apple Watch face to suit their lifestyle and display information from their most used apps. Furthermore, with Face Share, your personal watch Face can also be shared with others via email, message or links on websites and social media. Furthermore, you can also download custom dials from the App Store.
Finally, watchOS 7 will give us some amazing new Watch Faces like:
- Chronograph Pro which has an integrated tachymeter to calculate the travel speed
- Photos face that offer color filters, and
- X-Large face that allows you to add a rich complication
The popular Activity app has been renamed and renamed Fitness in watchOS 7. It offers many new features, but the most important is support for tracking dance training. This includes a variety of forms such as Hip Hop, Latin and Bollywood.
watchOS 7 uses the accelerometer and gyroscope to detect both arm and leg movements and combine them with heart rate data to calculate accurate calories burned.
Furthermore, the Fitness app also has a number of new training sessions for core training and functional strength training.
Sleep monitoring and sleep mode
watchOS 7 finally presents the long-awaited sleep tracking feature. This will sense micro-movements to assess breathing and track sleep quality and sleep trends. This will help you get a complete picture of the night’s rest.
It also includes an innovative and customizable downsizing mode that limits distractions closer to bedtime. So you can choose to postpone alerts, open meditation apps or listen to a soothing music playlist.
Furthermore, you will be able to set mild audible alarms or even more discreet haptic feedback, which subtly buzzes you awake without making a sound or disturbing anyone else in the room.
watchOS 7 brings several enhancements to your favorite personal assistant, Siri. For example, the new dictation feature on your device will improve your search results and voice-to-text messages
You can use the intelligent new translation features to communicate seamlessly in other languages. To begin with, this will support eleven popular languages.
Cycling in Maps
Maps on watchOS 7 will have better cycling directions, basically for New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, Shanghai and Beijing. It gives you details such as time and distance traveled, as well as information about bicycle lanes, stairs, traffic and what kind of terrain you are approaching.
These intelligent insights help you plan your route and navigate your bike better to get around smoothly. This focus on cycling is particularly important today due to the need to avoid public transport of health problems.
Another watchOS 7 feature that satisfies the needs of the hour is automatic handwash detection. The sensors on the Apple Watch will be able to know when you wash your hands and give a countdown to help you stick to the 20 second guideline. If you stop earlier, it will ask you to continue.
We all love music on the go, but we recommend limiting your exposure to sounds above 80 decibels to a maximum of 40 hours per week. watchOS 7 will tell you when you have reached this level each week, and offer options to protect your hearing.
WatchOS 7 has some pretty amazing new features, and there are probably several more that have not yet been officially announced, such as measuring oxygen in the blood. What are you most excited to experience on the Apple Watch? Let us know in the comments below.
