Are foldable phones the wave of the future? Color me skeptically, but Samsung seems to think about it. Earlier this week at the company's Unpacked Event, Samsung officially revealed its long-jerkable foldable smartphone, a device that is properly called the Galaxy Fold. With a 7.3-inch screen when fully open and a 4.6-inch display when folded up, the device is unmistakably exciting. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Galaxy Fold will spew a new path of smartphone innovation or just be more than a ridiculous novelty on Google Glass.
Of course, Galaxy Fold has asked some pundits to reap praise on Samsung to innovate as you spread Apple at the same time to be boring. Interestingly, Apple, believe it or not, has published patents related to folding iPhone designs. In addition, an analyst from Bank of America said last year that Apple has been committed to working on a collapsible iPhone that could see the light of day as early as 2020.
Apple films patents for products it never solves regularly, so it is probably not a good idea to read too much into it. Still, one cannot wonder, but what a foldable iPhone can bring to the market.
Well, no more wonder. The people of ConceptsiPhone have recently put together a concept video that shows what a folding iPhone can bring to the table. Much of it looks cool, but if we are honest, some of the ideas seem either meaningless or so ambitious that they don't even seem realistic at the moment. Then there's nothing wrong with a nice concept video, so enjoy the madness below.
